Sacred Syria
Eight days of layered religious and cultural heritage.

Home to one of Syria’s great pilgrimage sites, where centuries of Christian tradition are still alive.
WHY GO
A centuries-old pilgrimage town in the mountains north of Damascus, Saidnaya is best known for Deir Our Lady of Saidnaya — one of Syria’s most important Christian pilgrimage sites. The monastery rises above the town from a rocky hillside, its stone walls, courtyards, chapels and icons carrying a religious tradition that has drawn pilgrims for centuries. More than simply a viewpoint or mountain stop, Saidnaya is a place visitors come to experience Syria’s living Christian heritage.
A simple coffee or meal stop can be arranged in town, with respect for worship and service times.
A day trip from Damascus, allowing unhurried time for the monastery, its views and the pilgrimage atmosphere.
